The University of Arizona Women's Club volleyball team is a dedicated group of about thirty girls and four coaches, comprised of an "A" team and a "B" team. Most of the players come from very competitive high school and club backgrounds. Although many of the players could have gone on to play for NCAA teams, they have chosen to focus on their education, while still having the desire to play competitive and fun volleyball. Each Fall, at the start of the school year, the club holds tryouts to determine the two teams. Both teams practice and participate in various tournaments throughout the year, culminating in trips to Regionals and Nationals.
During the 2011-12 season, Arizona B defeated Michigan B to become the NCVF Division II Silver Champions in Kansas City, Missouri.
Arizona A finished 5th in NCVF Division I National Championship, losing to Cal Poly in the semi-finals.
Arizona Women's club volleyball has a winning history, and is one of the premier collegiate clubs in the nation. Since its inception, both Arizona A and B have been consistently ranked in the top 20 of their respective divisions. In the National tournament, Arizona A has finished in the Sweet 16 or better for the past 6 years and Arizona B has been extremely competitive as well.
